What's Happening at Town Hall?
Sidewalk Maintance: As the temperatures begin to drop and winter weather moves in, the Town would like to remind homeowners and tenants about their responsibility to keep sidewalks clear of snow and ice. Keeping our walkways safe helps everyone in the community get around more easily during the colder months.
Property owners and tenants are responsible for removing snow and ice from any sidewalks that run along or border their property. Please remember to shovel snow onto your own property rather than into the street, alley, or other public areas. This helps maintain safe conditions for pedestrians and drivers alike.
Please see below Silt Municipal Code Section 12.04.010 for more information:
12.04.010 - Removal of snow and ice from sidewalks.
- The owner or occupant of any lot, tract or parcel of ground within the town having a sidewalk along or adjacent to any boundary thereof shall cause all snow and ice to be removed from the sidewalk within 24 hours from the time of the last accretion of snow or ice upon the sidewalk.
- It shall be unlawful for any person to plow, shovel, blow or otherwise move snow or ice into any public street, sidewalk, alley or other public property within the town in a manner which impairs the use of the street or sidewalk for vehicular or pedestrian traffic, increases hazards to vehicles or pedestrians traveling upon the street or sidewalk, or interferes with the town's maintenance of the public property; provided, however, nothing contained in this section shall be construed to prohibit or regulate the manner in which persons working on behalf of the town clear or remove snow or ice from the public streets or other public places within the town.
VALE Board Appointments
The VALE Board meets the 3rd Monday of the month to review fund disbursement applications from victims of crime. Family Stargazing Night at the Silt Preserve
Garfield County Outdoors, in partnership with the Aspen Valley Land Trust, is planning a Family Stargazing Night at the Silt Preserve on Thursday, November 14. This event is part of their new family-centered programming to help youth and families explore the outdoors together.

A medida que las temperaturas comienzan a bajar y llega el clima invernal, el Municipio desea recordar a los propietarios y arrendatarios su responsabilidad de mantener las aceras libres de nieve y hielo. Mantener nuestros caminos peatonales seguros ayuda a que todos en la comunidad puedan desplazarse con mayor facilidad durante los meses fríos.
Los propietarios y arrendatarios son responsables de retirar la nieve y el hielo de las aceras que colindan o limitan con su propiedad. Por favor, recuerde quitar la nieve colocándola dentro de su propio terreno y no en la calle, el callejón u otras áreas públicas. Esto ayuda a mantener condiciones seguras tanto para los peatones como para los conductores.

12.04.010 - Remoción de nieve y hielo de las aceras.
A. El propietario u ocupante de cualquier lote, terreno o parcela dentro del municipio que tenga una acera a lo largo o adyacente a cualquiera de sus límites deberá asegurarse de que toda la nieve y el hielo sean retirados de la acera dentro de las 24 horas siguientes al momento de la última acumulación de nieve o hielo sobre la misma.
B. Será ilegal que cualquier persona empuje, palee, sople o de cualquier otra manera mueva nieve o hielo hacia cualquier calle pública, acera, callejón u otra propiedad pública dentro del municipio de una manera que impida el uso de la calle o acera para el tráfico vehicular o peatonal, aumente los riesgos para los vehículos o peatones que transitan por la calle o acera, o interfiera con el mantenimiento municipal de la propiedad pública; sin embargo, nada de lo contenido en esta sección se interpretará como una prohibición o regulación del modo en que las personas que trabajan en nombre del municipio limpian o retiran nieve o hielo de las calles públicas u otros lugares públicos dentro del municipio.

Noche Familiar de Observación de Estrellas en la Reserva de Silt
Garfield County Outdoors, en colaboración con Aspen Valley Land Trust, está organizando una Noche Familiar de Observación de Estrellas en la Reserva de Silt el jueves 14 de noviembre.
