 This past Sunday, the Silt Police Dept teamed up with the Garfield County Sheriff's Office and Colorado Bureau of Investigation for another incredible year of the Shop with a Cop program.
For those unfamiliar, Shop with a Cop is a special initiative where law enforcement officers join local kids for a memorable day of shopping, ensuring they have the essentials and gifts to brighten their holiday season. It’s a chance to build positive connections, foster trust, and create lasting memories.
We are especially grateful to GCSO Investigator Jenness and SPD Officer Portwood, whose hard work made this event our largest yet!
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and residents in Silt and across Garfield County, we raised over $20,000 and were able to serve 82 kids many of whom live here in our community.
Your support made this event a huge success and helped bring smiles and joy to so many. Thank you for showing the true spirit of Silt!

El domingo pasado, el Departamento de Policía de Silt se asoció con la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Garfield y la Oficina de Investigación de Colorado para otro año increíble del programa Shop with a Cop.
Para aquellos que no están familiarizados, Shop with a Cop es una iniciativa especial en la que los agentes de la ley se unen a los niños locales para un día memorable de compras, asegurándose de que tengan lo esencial y los regalos para alegrar su temporada navideña. Es una oportunidad para construir conexiones positivas, fomentar la confianza y crear recuerdos duraderos.
¡Estamos especialmente agradecidos a la investigadora Jenness de GCSO y al oficial de SPD Portwood, cuyo arduo trabajo hizo de este evento nuestro más grande hasta ahora!

Housing Needs Assessment
The Town is creating a plan to address housing shortages in our area. An element of this plan is to re-write our Municipal Code, in an effort to make affordable housing more attainable.
