Project Updates
The project team is preparing to move OIT’s applications and servers out of the eFORT Data Center this weekend. The migration will occur from 6 p.m. on May 17, 2024, until 2 a.m. on May 18, 2024.
OIT supports many functions across our state agency partners, so there may be impacts on systems and applications requiring PingID authentication or OIT (Global Protect) VPN access. Those relying on PingID authentication or requiring access to the OIT VPN will experience intermittent availability during the migration window. If PingID or the VPN is unavailable, users are encouraged to try again in 10 minutes.
Additionally, access to ServiceHub, password resets, and technical support for the myColorado app may be intermittently unavailable during the migration window.
Stay tuned to future editions for more updates on the progress of the eFORT relocation project.
With the migration of the mainframe to the vendor-hosted environment completed, the team is now focused on modernizing and improving several critical applications. Modernization and improvement include incorporating IT Service Management (ITSM) into the new mainframe environment, leading to a better customer experience for our agency partners. We will also be one step closer to ensuring Coloradans will continue receiving life-sustaining benefits and support from our agency partners while setting the foundation for a modern, cost-effective, agile digital government in Colorado.
The EBT modernization team has made great progress over the past several weeks. The project is approximately 80% complete. End-to-end testing will be completed before releasing the solution into the live (production) environment for agency customers and Coloradans. The project is on track to be finished by the end of June 2024.
The State Verification Exchange System (SVES) is an on-screen mainframe application allowing certain agencies to conduct Social Security Administration (SSA) verifications. The project to modernize the application has officially kicked off with discovery workshops, solution design planning and meetings with agency partners to understand how SVES impacts their work and services for Coloradans. This application is currently used by the Department of Revenue (DOR), the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE), the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) supporting the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF).

As we shared in April’s Tech Debt newsletter, the Enterprise Identity Services project aims to streamline our Identity Manager system for a more reliable user experience. Currently, the team is making headway with our Active Directory (AD) cleanup efforts, a crucial initiative to boost efficiency and reduce costs by removing inactive accounts that can lead to inaccurate data. We've completed work with CDPHE, are now focusing on CDEC, and have started with CDA. Next on our agenda is collaborating with CDHS to ensure their AD setup is fully functional.
In parallel, we will be actively conducting interviews with our agency partners to capture essential changes and user requirements for Identity Manager. The insights gained from these discussions will inform our approach, helping us refine what's working well and address areas needing improvement.
We're committed to enhancing our identity management systems through these focused efforts and welcome any feedback or suggestions as we move forward.
