Providing a seamless wireless connection for state employees, office visitors and the public is a significant part of the Enterprise Wireless program, which is why we’re excited to share a major win for the network and project teams. DNR is the latest agency to upgrade its locations to OIT’s enterprise Wi-Fi solution.
This project consisted of a lot of moving pieces and agency collaboration. Kudos to everyone involved! Next up on the enterprise Wi-Fi upgrade list: CDHS. As the network team works with the agency and IT Director to ensure the correct infrastructure is upgraded, they will begin planning the enterprise Wi-Fi migration.
With the migration of the mainframe to the vendor-hosted environment completed, the team is now focused on modernizing and improving several critical applications. This includes incorporating IT Service Management (ITSM) into the new mainframe environment, leading to a better customer experience for our agency partners. We will also be one step closer to ensuring Coloradans will continue receiving life-sustaining benefits and support from our agency partners while setting the foundation for a modern, cost-effective, agile digital government in Colorado.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) and Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) completed their integrations. The affected agencies are completing testing and validation to ensure the new file transfer app works as expected.
Be sure to keep an eye out for updates in future newsletters.
The MOVEIT file transfer was set up for the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) and a test file was transferred successfully. The team is working with CDHS and their vendors to confirm the file transfer protocols and integrations are working for them. Over the next few weeks, the team will be focused on integrations and testing, including accessibility testing.

We’re excited to introduce our latest venture, the Enterprise Identity Services project, a major effort that aims to improve the customer experience with the state’s Identity Manager application. In partnership with our service consultant, NTT Data, and agency partners, we are conducting interviews to gather feedback on each group’s experience when using Identity Manager and what they would like to have built into the tool. The feedback will serve as vital data points as we cultivate the project plan.
Because any technology solution is only as good as the data it receives, a crucial part of this project is cleaning up Identity Manager’s data source, Active Directory (AD). The goal is to address technical issues within AD, along with the processes agencies and OIT follow to maintain this data, to ensure a smoother, more reliable and consistent user experience with improved system performance.
This project has many moving pieces, so we will keep you posted as we progress through each milestone. Stay tuned!
