NTIA Approves Vol. 1 of BEAD Initial Proposal
Volume 1 of CBO's Initial Proposal for the Broadband, Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) program was approved by the NTIA on Wednesday, Jan. 3. This approval is a crucial step in the process of deploying BEAD funding and reaching our goal of connecting 99% of Colorado households to high-speed broadband by the end of 2027.
The Advance-BEAD Challenge Process is Underway
The process began this past Monday, Jan. 8 with the publication of eligible locations. Next, the CBO will start accepting challenges tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 10. If you are an ISP, nonprofit, or local or Tribal government, visit the Advance-BEAD Challenge Portal for more information and to make sure you are registered and ready to participate.

Broadband Fund Grant Application Deadline
Applications for the final 2024 Broadband Fund grant cycle are due Thursday, Feb. 15.

Digital Access Plan Listening Sessions Scheduled
The Digital Equity team is supporting public comments listening sessions on the draft Digital Access Plan in multiple locations across the state. There are numerous upcoming sessions in multiple languages including Wed. Jan. 10 in Denver (in English) and Thurs. Jan 11 in Colorado Springs (translation to Spanish available). 241,002 households in Colorado have enrolled in the ACP as of Jan. 1, 2024, accounting for 31.79% of eligible households in the state.
