Broadband Fund: 2024 Grant Cycle
The Broadband Deployment Board (BDB) typically runs two cycles per year; however, due to the nature of the sunset in September 2024 the BDB is not going to complete two full cycles before its expiration on September 30, 2024. To compensate for not having two full cycles, staff is proposing one final cycle to take place with two reviews to ensure all remaining funds are awarded.

Initial Proposal Volume 2 Available
The Initial Proposal Volume 2 outlines critical components of the Broadband, Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) grant program, including the plan for workforce development, stakeholder engagement, low-cost and middle-class broadband service options and the selection process.
To help stakeholders navigate the document and to facilitate comments we created a guide that highlights key sections of the plan, provides descriptive information and provides page numbers for reference.
We Want to Hear From You
BEAD Initial Proposal Volume 2 is open for public comment until Nov. 27. Receiving feedback from residents, organizations, nonprofits, local governments and providers is key to crafting a successful plan for BEAD funding distribution. Submit comments today.
Challenge Process
We are getting ready to run the Advance-BEAD Challenge Process. The process is detailed in our Initial Proposal Volume 1, and we will host an informational webinar on Dec. 12. The webinar will help you prepare to participate in the Challenge, which will begin in January. We will provide more details about the process at the Community and Industry Roundtables and on our website.

We are gearing up for the Colorado General Assembly's 2024 Legislative session. Following last year's successful effort to pass SB23-183, the CBO is looking to collaborate with stakeholders on our agenda and priorities for the upcoming session. Like last year, we plan to set up a recurring Broadband Legislative Stakeholder meeting to engage, hear ideas and share information on our legislative agenda. Stay tuned for more details; a calendar invite will be forthcoming.
