We are very excited to announce the launch of the Colorado Broadband Office Mapping Hub (Hub)! The Hub is now available at broadbandhub.colorado.gov and is an easy-to-use resource for the public, internet service providers (ISPs), schools, communities and businesses around Colorado for their broadband education and planning purposes.
In the Hub, you can access a wealth of broadband mapping-related resources:
-
The new Colorado Broadband Map is searchable by your area of interest (county, municipality, school district, legislative district, or region) and offers users more information on what broadband coverage looks like in their area. Residents can enter their address to find available broadband service, information about grants in the area and typical speeds from nearby speed tests.
- Get a high-level look at broadband in Colorado by viewing the Hub metrics dashboard for a quick look at an area’s internet speeds, households served, grant awards and proposed broadband projects.
- Learn about broadband projects funded by the state with the Grant Awards Dashboard. Users can gain an overview of CBO grant awards and awarded projects' progress. The dashboard is filterable by funding program, project status and area of interest.
- The Grant Discovery Portal allows applicants to find everything they might need to prepare a grant application. Users can view program eligibility guidelines and find resources for application preparation. It includes state and federal broadband grant layers, broadband coverage data and demographic data.
- Find and download data. The Hub contains links to authoritative data sources including CBO data, FCC data, Census and demography data.
- Share your internet experience with us by taking our Broadband Survey & Speed Test. Here, residents can test their home or business internet speed and share valuable information directly with the CBO.
Please reach out to us at OIT_Broadband@state.co.us if you have questions about the Hub.
A timeline is now available for the Broadband Deployment Board’s (BDB) 2023 Winter & Summer Grant Cycles. After spending the past few months collecting and incorporating stakeholder input and recommendations on process improvements, the BDB has officially kicked off the 2023 Grant year.

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting the Internet for All: Colorado Broadband Summit in Westminster on April 19-20. This event will:
- Provide an update from CBO and other state agency partners on efforts to support broadband deployment
- Feature panels on broadband topics ranging from digital equity to community planning
- Offer workshops to support communities as they prepare for CBO grant programs.
We will be announcing the full program and registration details in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
The Colorado Office of the Future of Work, in partnership with the Office of eHealth Innovation and the Office of Information Technology, is pleased to share that the application for the Colorado Digital Equity Research Opportunity is now open. This opportunity is open to Colorado based community-based organizations primarily serving target populations outlined in the application packet, and will support the collection of insights from communities served, which will be used to inform the creation of the Digital Equity Plan. Applications will close on March 8.
All relevant documents and information can be found on the Office of the Future of Work’s website. Please direct all questions on this opportunity to Melanie Colletti: melanie.colletti@state.co.us
The CBO would like to congratulate CSU on their award of $301,030 from the Economic Development Administration (EDA). The CSU System will be working through its Extension offices to enhance rural broadband access in Colorado through economic development initiatives. Learn more about the CSU System plan for expanding rural broadband access here.
The CBO has been busy traveling across the state to engage with broadband leaders and communities over the past month. Here’s a quick highlight of some of our visits:
ACP Act Now Webinar
On Wednesday, Feb. 1, Delia Sánchez of the CBO, together with EducationSuperHighway hosted the ACP Act Now Webinar (available in English & Spanish) where 85 community members from across Colorado learned about ACP best practices, data, resources and other tools available. The webinar educated locals on how to best reach unconnected households in their communities & how to overcome barriers to adoption to close the digital divide.
Thank you to those who were able to attend the webinar. We are grateful to have you as partners in closing the digital divide for the 219,000 families in Colorado - 59% of Colorado's digital divide - that have access to the Internet, but remain unconnected because they can't afford it.
Holyoke
On Jan. 25, Haitham Ali and Mark Colwell of the CBO traveled to Holyoke to meet with county commissioners from Phillips, Sedgwick, and Yuma Counties. CBO provided an overview of our activities, including federal grant programs, and reviewed broadband maps of the area.
