 More to the Story
Most people know about the wealth of stories available at the library, from picture books and large print to audiobooks and ebooks, with over 450,000 items checked out annually. But there's so much more to the story of libraries.
Libraries are welcoming spaces that unite communities through book clubs, storytimes, movie nights, crafting classes, lectures, and more for entertainment, education, and connection. In 2025, the Library hosted 622 programs and welcomed over 28,000 attendees. The Louisville Public Library also offers various online and digital programs, classes, and services, including CreativeBug, Mango Languages, and access to The New York Times.
Libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills, and support for job seekers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.
If you haven't checked out the Louisville Public Library lately, you're missing the full story.

Read to Rover
Every Tuesday afternoon, local children head to the Louisville Public Library to spend some time reading to an enthusiastic audience: therapy dogs. The popular Read to Rover program, which has been a regular feature at the Library since 2011, attracts young people who want to improve their reading confidence and hang out with adorable pups. Everyone takes a turn reading to (and petting) the dogs, whose owners volunteer their time to this worthwhile program that has had a positive effect on so many children. Join us, every Tuesday afternoon, 4-5 p.m.

Youth Spring Art Show

Join us for the Opening Reception on Friday, March 6, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the Louisville Public Library, and enjoy artwork created by talented youth artists from our community.
