Intrepid Fiber Installation Underway in Louisville
Estimated Completion: Summer 2026 Location: Public right-of-ways throughout Louisville
Intrepid Fiber Networks is currently installing a fiber network across Louisville. This project began in March of 2024, with work progressing neighborhood by neighborhood in the public rights-of-way. This project was carefully reviewed by City staff, including the City Attorney, to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Telecommunications providers have the right to occupy and utilize the public rights-of-way within the City based on these state and federal laws.
What’s Happening Now Construction is ongoing in the public rights-of-way (typically up to 2.5 feet behind sidewalks). Intrepid is required to restore all work areas to their original or better condition. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., with minimal disruption expected on weekends or holidays.
