Save the date: Labor Day Weekend in Louisville
Louisville's biggest community event of the year is just a month away! Â Don't miss the chance to come together with friends and neighbors to experience a weekend celebrating our community spirit.
Louisville's 89th annual Labor Day celebrations kick off with our annual Senior Dinner at Steinbaugh Plaza on Friday, August 29. But it's Labor Day itself — Monday, September 1 — that will feature the main events, including the Children's Pet Parade, the Annual Labor Day Parade, and the Fall Festival at Memory Square Park.
For more information, including parade registration, visit LouisvilleCO.gov/LaborDay.
Join us downtown for August's First Friday
Make August's First Friday part of your Street Faire experience! First Fridays happen every first Friday of the month, April through October — the perfect complement to all the Street Faire excitement happening in town this month!

Comprehensive Plan

Council Work Plan and 2026 Budget
City Council met on July 15 to discuss their 2026 Council Work Plan in alignment with the 2026 Budget. Council heard from city staff to discuss core services, and reviewed budget requests from boards and commissions. Following this meeting, Council held their 2026 Budget Retreat on July 23. The City Manager will present a recommended budget to City Council on September 2. To stay updated on City Council meetings and review meeting packets, visit LouisvilleCO.gov/CityCouncil.

Other news
Big news from the City of Louisville & Boulder County’s EnergySmart!
We’re rolling out brand new rebates on cellular shades. These rebates can save you up to 30% of all project costs up to $750 on the purchase and installation of new double or cell-in-cell cellular shades (single cell shades not eligible for rebate). Cellular shades look great, but they’re more than just a stylish design option. They’re made with fabric cells stacked in a honeycomb design that trap air — keeping your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. These rebates are available now, so don’t miss out! Rebates are available on a first come, first serve basis while funding is available. Questions? Reach out to an EnergySmart advisor at Info@EnergySmartYes.com.
Fresh Food Connect
The City of Louisville, Community Food Share and Fresh Food Connect are partnering to tackle food insecurity by linking home gardeners with hunger relief organizations. This happens through Fresh Food Connect’s smartphone application; the app aims to connect gardeners with community-based hunger relief & food access organizations. Once gardeners are connected, they can schedule produce donations directly through the app. The app will also track donations and individual impacts over the season! This program is a meaningful, engaging and easy way for gardeners to share homegrown produce in Louisville, rather than allowing it to go to waste. Visit FreshFoodConnect.org to sign up today!

Economic Vitality supports Louisville's existing businesses
Louisville's Economic Vitality team regularly meets with existing Louisville businesses in order to gain a better understanding of the City’s business community. These business retention meetings give Economic Vitality staff a chance to listen to businesses and hear directly from them about any issues that they may be facing, as well as opportunities for growth and improvement. Information gathered during these conversations may help guide future City policy discussions, create new City programming, adjust existing programs, and improve the overall business climate in Louisville.
Meeting with an individual business also strengthens the relationship between the business and the City, fostering collaboration and cooperation between the City and Louisville's business community. When we hear directly from businesses, we can create systems that better support their needs, which contributes to everyone's success.
Interested in scheduling a retention visit for your business? Reach out to Economic Vitality to request one today!
