Downtown alley improvements start April 14, some parking will be affected
Each year, the city identifies roads that need repaving based on how damaged they are, safety concerns, and other factors. We call it our annual Street Resurfacing Project. The 2025 Street Resurfacing Project was approved by City Council on March 4, and our contractor is getting ready to make the identified improvements.
The contractor will repave/patch four alleys in downtown Louisville in April. During this work, access to some parking areas will be closed. See map and list of affected alleys below. Some work will occur on multiple alleys at the same time, beginning April 14 (weather dependent).
- Between Main and Lafarge - Pine to Spruce
- Between Main and Lafarge - Spruce to Walnut
- Between Front and Main - Short to Caledonia
- Between LaFarge and Jefferson - Hutchinson to Pine (patching only)
Don't worry, there's still plenty of parking in our beautiful downtown, so don't let this stop you from visiting your favorite places in Louisville this spring! Check out our downtown parking map at LouisvilleCO.gov/Parking.
As always, please use caution in construction areas. Let's work together to keep our contractors and downtown safe!
The contractor has directly notified affected businesses and residents. If you have questions, please contact our project manager:
