Meet the candidates Jan. 22
The City of Louisville invites residents to participate in a meet-and-greet with the four finalists on Wednesday, January 22, from 6–7:30 p.m. at the Louisville Recreation & Senior Center (900 West Via Appia Way). At this event, the public will have the opportunity to learn more about each candidate and provide feedback for consideration by City Council.
What does a City Manager do?
Louisville operates under the council-manager form of government, in which the elected City Council serves as the governing body and hires a professional City Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the City and carry out policies set by Council. Deputy City Manager Samma Fox has served as Interim City Manager since July of 2024 and will continue to serve in this important role until a new City Manager is selected and transitions into the role.
What happens next?
City Council will meet on Monday, January 27 at 6 p.m. to discuss the four finalists and select the candidate with whom they hope to negotiate a contract. Once a contract is finalized and approved, the City Council will determine a start date for the new city manager.
