 Where to Recycle Your Christmas Tree
It's time to properly dispose of your tree! Two ways to dispose of your tree in Louisville:
Branch Recycling Center: Christmas Tree Recycling Day
Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Drop off your tree at our Branch Recycling Center, located just north of the Louisville Cemetery on Empire Road (view map).
Make sure all decorations including tinsel, garland, and other festive objects are removed from your tree before dropping it off!

Put it in your Republic Compost Bin
Republic will accept trees in compost bins. The trees will need to be cut into less than 4-foot long sections and bundled with rope or twine to be less than 18 inches in diameter, with all decorations including tinsel removed. Insert the cut tree in your compost bin and put your compost bin out on your normal pickup day, within the following dates:
January 2 - January 4
January 13 - January 17
January 27 - January 31
