City Council Ward 1 election results expected November 14
The City Council Ward 1 race is still too close to call. As of November 6, the vote count stands at:
-
Joshua Sroge: 1,506 (50.22%)
-
Josh Cooperman: 1,493 (49.78%)
When will we get final results?
Boulder County is still processing ballots; this includes allowing people to verify signatures and waiting for overseas ballots. We can expect to see final unofficial results on November 14, and for the election to be certified on November 26.
Will there be an automatic recount?
An automatic recount is required by State statute if the “election contest is less than or equal to one-half of one percent of the highest vote cast in that election contest.” As the count stands now, an automatic recount would not be required. However, as it is so close and votes are still being counted, that could change.
If there is a recount, when will it happen?
If a recount is required, it will take place the week of December 2, and unofficial election results will follow shortly thereafter.
