Police respond to Monarch High School
On Monday September 23, 2024, officers from the Louisville Police Department and surrounding agencies responded to a report of shots fired inside Monarch High School at approximately 11:17 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers coordinated with school staff to ensure the safety of all students and personnel.
It was quickly determined that there was no active threat or indication of gunfire, and evidence of fireworks being detonated were the reason for the report. All students and staff are safe.
“We take all reports of potential threats very seriously," said Louisville Police Chief Rafael Gutierrez. "In situations like this, our priority is the safety and well-being of everyone involved. We are grateful for the swift cooperation of the school staff and the prompt response of our officers."
The Louisville Police Department is investigating the origin of this incident and urges anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the department at 303-441-4444 or submit an anonymous tip through Safe2Tell.
