 Celebrate Hispanic Heritage
Although October is just starting, we are already right in the middle of Hispanic Heritage Month! Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated between September 15 and October 15 and celebrates the contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Guests of all ages are invited to come learn about a Guatemalan tradition that combines story, craft, and mental health on Oct. 12. Make a set of worry dolls for yourself or for a loved one. Families are welcome to come together, and only need to register for how many sets they intend to make.

Huzzah! Three cheers for vintage baseball!
Around 450 excited fans watched the Louisville Miners, a team of local community members, hit, run, and throw their way to victory 13 to 6 against the Star Base Ball Club of Colorado Territory. Spectators gathered to watch the game, eat Cracker Jacks, and take photos with cutouts of Louisville baseball players. Many thanks to the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District and the Louisville History Foundation for sponsoring the event, as well as business sponsors 8z Real Estate - Cory Nickerson, Arc Thrift Store, Deep End Solutions, and Origin CPA Group.

 Historic Photo Feature
Here at the Museum, we are pretty excited about sweater weather! To get us all ready for the turning of the season, here is a photo from the Museum's collection, showing some amazing fall fashions. The photo shows three smartly dressed Louisville women, tragically born too soon to enjoy Pumpkin Spice Lattes. These women are attending the "Editor's Convention at Boulder" in Fall 1929 and are dressed to impress in sweater dresses and drop waists. Smart AND fashionable? Yes, please! Elaine LaTronico, left, was editor of the Louisville High School newspaper and graduated in 1929. Thelma Dixon and Genevieve Affolter, right, were members of the class of 1930.
