1st Street Farms Brings New Community Gathering Space to Littleton
Littleton residents will soon enjoy expanded opportunities to connect, recreate and gather near South Platte Park after city council moved ahead with a public-private partnership agreement for the 1st Street Farms project.
The five-acre mixed-use development at Santa Fe Drive and Mineral Avenue will feature community amenities designed for public use, including a turf field supporting youth sports and school programs, ADA-compliant trails connecting to South Platte Park, and publicly accessible park infrastructure maintained through private investment.
The project will bring ongoing partnerships between a new event venue, the City of Littleton, and local nonprofits – creating a shared hub for arts, culture, and recreation that elevates the community’s creative spirit.
Council Supports Housing Diversity with Single-Stair Ordinance Passage
In an effort to increase housing diversity in Littleton, city council unanimously approved an amendment to the city’s building code to allow for certain multifamily residential buildings to be served by a single exit stairway.
Single-stair building forms are commonly used internationally and in certain places of the United States to facilitate smaller-footprint apartment buildings, improve unit layouts, increase access to natural light and ventilation, and reduce constructions costs.

New Mural Graces Playa Bowls with Help from LDDA
The Littleton Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) is proud to announce the completion of Those That Carried Us Here, a large-scale mural by Littleton artist Katy Casper and the first major installation in the organization’s new public art program.
Located on the west-facing wall of the building at 2490 Main Street (the southeast corner of Main and Nevada Streets), the approximately 2,420-square-foot mural transforms a historic downtown building into a vibrant tribute to the people, places, and stories that helped shape Littleton.

Downtown Littleton Block Party: LDDA Delivers Record Year
The Littleton Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) delivered record results with the 2026 Downtown Littleton Block Party, drawing an estimated 18,500 visits, a 46% increase over 2025, representing more than seven times the foot traffic of an average Saturday on Main Street.
The free event, now in its second year under LDDA management, transformed multiple blocks of Main Street and Bega Park into a community celebration featuring four entertainment stages, seven live bands, 136 food and marketplace vendors, 10 roaming street performers, a new Family Zone in Bega Park, and an eight-minute fireworks show. More than 100 volunteers and 35 sponsors helped bring the event to life.
Data from Placer.ai showed more than 80% of attendees came from outside the immediate downtown area, establishing the Block Party as a regional destination.
Beyond attendance, the event generated measurable economic impact: ViewHouse attracted over 20 percent of visitors, while attendees also dispersed to restaurants and bars beyond the event perimeter, creating spillover activity for downtown businesses.
