Friendly reminder: Several Gypsum subdivisions use separate non‑potable irrigation water (not drinkable) provided through their HOA. If you live in one of these neighborhoods, please remember that Town potable water (drinkable) may not be used for any outdoor watering.
Use of Town water will lead to a citation and a required Municipal Court appearance. This message is just a friendly heads-up, we really don’t want things to get to that point. Town staff will be keeping an eye on water usage, but our hope is that everyone is simply aware and helps us stay on track.
Thank you to everyone for doing their part to conserve water. Although your efforts are helping, we are still under Phase 2 Water Restrictions (as of this newsletter's release), and your continued participation is crucial.
Please click this LINK for neighborhood information.
If you have questions about your irrigation water billing, please contact your HOA directly. Thank you for helping us protect our water resources and stay compliant during Phase 2. More information on water restrictions can be found HERE.
Here’s how your tax dollars are helping improve Gypsum!

Recycling Center Relocation– The recycling center moved from Ridley’s Market to a more central site at the Eagle County Road & Bridge Facility. The project included preparing the new location with a reinforced concrete pad, updated electrical work, and minor adjustments to the Eagle Valley Trail, along with moving equipment like the cardboard compactor and rolloff rails. The new location is now up and running at the Eagle County Road & Bridge Facility (3289 Cooley Mesa Rd). |

Cooley Mesa Road Widening - This project, started in March 2026, transformed the corridor into a four‑lane thoroughfare complete with auxiliary turns at Siena Lake, an upgraded bus stop, and a new water line for system resiliency. Major construction has been completed with punch list items remaining. |
Town-Wide Fire Mitigation - Our Public Works team completed extensive fire‑mitigation work throughout Gypsum, clearing dead and hazardous vegetation to reduce wildfire risk. Eagle Valley Wildland also assisted the town with mitigation behind Town Hall. With current drought conditions increasing fire danger, this proactive work plays a critical role in protecting homes, open spaces, and the community at large. |
Beautifying Town Parks -The Town completed several park improvements, over the summer, to keep our community beautiful. Our Public Works team installed new split‑rail fencing at Estes Park, the Gypsum Sports Complex, York View Park, and Spring Buck Park; added fresh mulch at Gypsum Estates Park; installed new signs at the Gun Club, York View Park, and Quail Run Park; and rejuvenated the horseshoe pits at Second Street Park. |
Slurry Seal - Crews completed slurry sealing in Chatfield Corners and along the southern portion of Gypsum Creek Road. Work included prepping road surfaces and applying a protective slurry seal, a blend of asphalt emulsion, water, finely crushed rock, and additives, to extend pavement life and improve overall drivability. |
Bike Path Repaving & Sealing - The Town repaved and sealed several key bike path segments to improve safety and ride quality for cyclists and pedestrians. Work was completed along Bison Lane to Cottonwood Pass Road to Grundel Way, Jules Drive to Schoolside and River View Road to the Gypsum Campground. |
Mill & Overlay Project -Road improvements were completed in Buckhorn Valley and along Timberwolf Drive in Cotton Ranch. Crews performed a mill and overlay, which is a process where the top layer of old asphalt is milled off and replaced with a fresh new surface. This work helps extend the lifespan of the roadways and greatly improves overall drivability. |
