Code Compliance Corner
1. Sidewalks & Streets
Residents and businesses are responsible for keeping sidewalks and walkways next to their property clear of snow, ice, sleet, or hail by noon the day after a storm, as required by Title 12 of the Gypsum Municipal Code.
Please don’t push snow into streets—it creates safety hazards. Also, avoid parking on snow plow routes during storms so our crews can clear roads effectively.
Thanks for doing your part to keep Gypsum safe and accessible for everyone!
2. Trash Collection Reminders
To ensure safe and efficient trash service, please follow these guidelines:
-
Remove trash cans promptly after pickup to allow for snowplowing and street maintenance.
-
Trash can lids must close completely. Do not overfill or stack items on or around the can.
-
Do not block cans with vehicles, fences, fire hydrants, or other objects. Drivers cannot exit the truck to move cans.
-
Improper placement or interference with pickup may result in citations or additional fees.
-
On-street parking is prohibited on weekdays from 7 AM to 5 PM. Vehicles blocking trash pickup may be cited.
-
Report violations that interfere with trash service to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office at 970-479-2201 while the issue is occurring.
1. Tower Center
The Tower Center development was just approved by Town Council. The development will take shape just south side of Highway 6, near Stratton Flats. This 65-acre project will bring new housing, businesses, and community spaces to town.
Phase 1 will include:
- Roads and infrastructure
- A 324-unit apartment complex
- Developer continues to negotiate a lease with the United States Postal Service for a new Gypsum Post Office
What’s next? Future phases include mixed-use commercial & residential buildings, 80 townhomes, 47 single-family homes, and a large public park.
Stay tuned for more updates as this project unfolds.
2. I-70 Eagle Airport Interchange
As of November, the Feasibility Study has been completed (report available at this LINK). The next phase includes a detailed environmental review and preliminary design (anticipated 2026–2029). Complete project information available at this LINK.
