Town Operational Updates.
Pardon our dust, while the lobby in Town Hall undergoes some renovation work throughout the month of December. The lobby will remain open during normal business hours, but we kindly ask for your patience as there may be some mess. Thank you for your understanding.
|
Our North Pole Mailbox is now "open" at the Gypsum Town Hall. For those with their holiday list ready to go, this is your direct line to Santa, straight from Town Hall!
|
The Second Street Park Ice Rink is always weather and temperature-dependent and if all goes well, our Public Works department typically gets this going mid to late December. So, please keep an eye out for an official rink opening announcement.
|
The "used" Holiday Tree Drop will be available at the west end of the Gypsum Sports Complex parking lot (3295 Cooley Mesa Rd.) from December 25, 2024 - January 6, 2025.

As part of the 2023 Wastewater/Sewer Rate Increase plan, approved by the Gypsum Town Council in Ordinance 1 (Series 2023), the next scheduled rate increase will go into effect on January 1, 2025 and will be reflected on January bills mailed in February 2025. This increase will apply to all residential and commercial wastewater fees, supporting necessary capacity and regulatory compliance upgrades to the town’s wastewater treatment facilities. Construction on the Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade began on October 24, 2024, and a related project to significantly expand the Riverview Sewer Collection Main is set to start in Spring 2025.
For complete background and detailed information, please refer to the original online announcement shared on January 25, 2023, HERE. A letter with this information was also sent to all customers by U.S. mail on December 1, 2022.
Additionally in 2025, all water rates will increase by 2% to help keep the Water Fund’s revenues stable. If you have further questions, please contact us using the pre-populated email link HERE.
The weather outside is frightful but sidewalks and roads should not be.
It's important for residents and businesses to keep their property safe and accessible for pedestrians and drivers in the community. Title 12 of Gypsum Municipal Code states that all public sidewalks and walkways within or abutting your property or dwelling must be clear of any accumulation of snow, ice, sleet, and hail no later than noon the day following the accumulation. Additionally, please do not deposit your snow on Town streets and roads. This creates a number of hazards. Please also be mindful of street parking along snow plow routes when a storm is expected and occuring. Our crews cannot properly plow and clear the streets of snow if there are obstacles in the way. Thank you.

Gypsum Creek Rec Area Master Plan Status
In October, the Town of Gypsum hosted a community meeting to discuss the Gypsum Creek Recreation Area Master Plan proposal. This master plan looks at revisions to the golf course facilities, restaurant, pool, tennis, and pickleball courts. Over 70 community members attended the meeting and shared feedback through a short survey.
The Town is reviewing the survey and input from the meeting to refine the master plan further. The Town will be sharing those revisions, as well as a community-wide survey, in early 2025. We would like to have feedback from our entire community to help set the goals for the Gypsum Creek area and decide how and when to move forward on the project. Please look for updates in the first part of 2025 as we prepare to share this important information with Town residents.
