⚠️ TRAFFIC/CONSTRUCTION NOTICE:
WEEK OF 10/21/24
|
|
|
The Gypsum Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade Project will officially begin next week. The new wastewater treatment plant will have the capacity to meet the Town’s 20-year projected growth horizon while meeting the latest regulatory requirements from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for effluent discharge. The project is anticipated to take about three years to complete.
The Eagle River Estates neighborhood will be affected the most by this project. We will do our best to reach out to ERE residents about any significant notices on this project, the majority of which will be days with increased truck/construction traffic through the neighborhood or considerable impacts from the construction site.
Project start-up plans at this point include:
-
Today, 10/18, the arborists will set the Tree Protection Zones (TPZs) for the trees around the park that will remain throughout the construction project.
- Next week, crews will install tree protection materials based on the TPZs set by the arborist and begin minor construction site preparation. There should not be significant truck/construction traffic this week.
-
The week of 10/28, the trees around the park that are coming down will be removed. Crews will also prep the construction site for the job site trailer.
A separate crew will be in the area conducting subsurface utility engineering and potholling for the Eagle River Estates Sewer Main Project scheduled for Spring 2025.
-
The week of 11/4, the job site trailer will be brought in and placed at the construction site. Additionally, some further subsurface utility engineering and potholling for the Eagle River Estates Sewer Main Project may occur this week.

A reminder that the Eagle County Airport continues to move a significant amount of dirt across Cooley Mesa Rd. (from a vacant lot on the south side of Cooley Mesa Rd. to the airport property) This project is anticipated to continue for another month. Please be mindful of large trucks crossing Cooley Mesa Rd. at Commerce Center Rd. Flaggers and temporary traffic signals are in place to assist with truck crossings and any necessary traffic stops.
