⚠️ TRAFFIC/CONSTRUCTION NOTICE |

HWY 6 Resurfacing Project: Work begins the week of 6/3/24 and will last about three (3) months.
The Highway 6 resurfacing project will begin next week at the eastern end with Segments 4 & 5 (see below image). The Eagle Valley Trail bike path from the Gypsum/Eagle Town boundary, west to Cooley Mesa Road, will be closed for approximately two and a half (2.5) weeks starting Monday, 6/3/24, for milling work and to make room for road widening in Segment 4. Crews will also be working roadside next week on the box culvert near the CDOT Facility east of Schoolside Ave. (Segment 2).
Mid-week HWY 6 will be reduced to a single lane with flagger control around mile marker 147 near Ferrell Gas for the installation of a culvert under HWY 6. Please consider using alternative routes during these days.
Looking ahead, traffic impacts continue the week of 6/10/24 when milling of the HWY 6 road surface in Segment 5 begins. Traffic control will consist of lane shifts with flaggers, allowing two lanes to remain open during the majority of construction. However, periods of one-lane operation with flagger control will be necessary where the roadway is narrow. Expect periods of single-lane operation with flagger control the week of 6/10/24. There will be reduced speeds in the construction zone, so please adjust your commute accordingly. As always, we encourage motorists to keep the safety and well-being of road crews and other motorists in mind while traveling through construction zones.
