2024 Gypsum Municipal Election
Gypsum's next Municipal Election takes place on April 2, 2024, as a Polling Place Election (in-person voting at the Gypsum Town Hall). There are three council seats to consider on the 2024 ballot. Each of these seats is a four-year term. Council Members whose terms expire with this election are:
- Kathleen Brendza
- Tom Edwards
- Chris Huffman
If you or someone you know cares deeply about Gypsum, its residents, and its future, is willing to make tough decisions, lead selflessly, be a moral steward of taxpayer dollars, uphold the values and beliefs of the Town, and dedicate the time and energy necessary to make Gypsum a better place - please consider running for an open seat on the Gypsum Town Council.
To be eligible to run in the 2024 Gypsum Town Council Election, interested persons must:
- Be a citizen of the U.S.
- Be a registered voter within the Town of Gypsum
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have resided in Gypsum for at least one year immediately preceding such election.
- Not be a salaried employee of the Town during their nomination period and term of office.
If you are eligible and interested in running for an open seat on the Gypsum Town Council, please download a Gypsum Nomination Petition or pick one up at the Gypsum Town Hall (M-F, 8 am-5 pm). Interested persons have until January 22, 2024, at 5 pm, to circulate and return their Nominating Petition and completed Nomination Petition Information Sheet to the Town Clerk's Office. A minimum of twenty (20) valid signatures from registered voters in the town is required to be nominated as a municipal candidate and appear on the ballot.
