Another Sewer Stewardship Reminder
Three TOG sewer line blockages found in one month.
Our utilities technicians continue to deal with problems related to foreign objects making their way into our town sewer system. Since our last sewer stewardship reminder went out in March, three more instances have occurred, resulting in broken pump belts and faulted-out pump motors at the sewer plant. Fortunately, the utilities staff found each of the blockages before they caused problems for residents, but significant repairs were required.
PLEASE be a good neighbor and do your part to prevent costly and time-consuming sewer equipment blockages or breakdowns by only flushing The Three P's (Pee, Poop & toilet Paper.) And please watch out for rags, clothes, and other trash entering sewer manholes and/or exposed plumbing infrastructure at construction sites.
It's Still Wildfire Season
It's harder to consider wildfire danger with all of this rain lately, but weather patterns do change, and we live in a fire ecosystem where fires will occur and do occur each year. While some wildfires are beneficial, it is our responsibility as residents of Eagle County to prevent human-caused/accidental wildfires through awareness, prevention, and preparedness.
May was Wildfire Preparedness Month and there is a TON of wildfire preparedness information and tips at ECEmergency.org. Please do your homework by reviewing this wildfire information, make sure you are properly signed up for ECAlerts, be aware of our local fire restriction levels as summer continues and take steps to be "Ready, Set Go!" during wildfire season.

Skeeters!
Depending on the need, our mosquito management contractor, Vector Disease Control International (VDCI) will begin mitigation efforts in mid to late June. Mitigation will occur throughout the summer, as needed and weather-dependent, each Wednesday starting around 7:30 PM. If you'd like your residence to be "skipped" along a mosquito spray route, please click the button below to be placed on the skip list.

Off-Highway Vehicle Use Reminder
Off-highway Vehicles (OHVs) are allowed for limited travel on town roads and streets for purposes of getting to/from nearby recreational trails and amenities, ONLY. Each year, especially in the Spring, we receive many reported violations of OHV use in Gypsum. Therefore, we encourage the public to please read through the Off-Highway Vehicles In Gypsum page to better understand the rules and expectations around this privilege. Thank you.
