Tell us a little bit about your background: I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Montana State University, and then worked for a year, and then went off to earn my Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School. Before finishing up at Michigan, I moved back to Montana to earn my Master of Public Administration from Montana State University. I then had several varied and interesting jobs before deciding to move to Colorado.
How long have you been with your current organization?I have been with OIT since December, 2021.
How did you get into the procurement field? I started working for the State of Colorado as a Contract Administrator with CDOT, in the Flood Recovery Business Office. I then moved to the Center for Procurement and Contract Services at CDOT as a hybrid Contracts Administrator & Purchasing Agent. Eventually, my particular focus became Intergovernmental Agreements in the Engineering Contract Services Unit. In 2021, I was very fortunate to start work with OIT in Procurement and Vendor Services, as the Contract Compliance Manager for Vendor Operations. As of August 2022, I am now the Manager of the Purchasing Team, in Procurement and Vendor Services.
Did you work in other professions, and if so where and for how long? In Montana I worked a couple years as the Assistant Manager at a Wine & Spirits store. After that, I was hired as the Sales Manager at a Computer Manufacturer and Internet Provider. After moving to Colorado, I was the Supervisor of the Resource Management Group for a Telecommunications company. I later moved to Global Outsourcing Support, where I focused on Contracts, Compliance, and Business Analysis for several years.
Please share a professional or personal accomplishment you're proud of: Completing my MBA from Regis University while working full-time was quite a challenge. Prior to that, again while working full-time, I also studied Computer Information Systems at Arapahoe Community College, and later earned a post Masters Level Academic Certificate from Regis University in Marketing.
Tell us something interesting and unique about yourself: I used to do local stand-up comedy.
