License Renewal Due
The Division of Real Estate license renewal period began November 1 and renewals are open until December 31, 2025.
For additional information, visit the link below because each license program varies based on state law, Board or Commission regulation, and, in some cases, federal law. Accordingly, reviewing the details of your specific program will ensure that you are able to timely renew.
Every licensee should understand that if expired, they may not conduct any business that requires licensure.
If your license is on an inactive status, you must still renew your license if you wish to maintain the inactive status and avoid any applicable reinstatement fees.

Colorado Real Estate Commission Proposed Permanent Rulemaking Hearing
On December 2, 2025, the Colorado Real Estate Commission (CREC) will be conducting a regular meeting and rulemaking hearing via webinar. At the rulemaking hearing, the Commissioners will consider changes to Chapters 1, 2, 4, and 6 of the Rules Governing Real Estate Brokers, found at 4 CCR 725-1.

Home Insurance Assistance
From time to time, the Division of Real Estate shares important information from some of our government partners. As real estate practitioners, it should come as no surprise that the cost of insurance in Colorado is on the rise. The Division of Insurance (DOI), a division of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), has been working to address these rising costs for some time.
Previously, the Division of Real Estate has informed licensees of the Homeowner and HOA Insurance Toolkit, which is designed to help people better understand the current issues, recent work by the DOI, and the Colorado Legislature regarding insurance costs and availability. Now, the Division would like you to know about two additional resources:
1. DOI has developed an important webpage dedicated to insurance affordability and availability.
2. DOI has scheduled an important stakeholder meeting on December 2, 2025. Interested parties can register here

Association Meetings
The HOA Information & Resource Center is regularly asked questions about the types of meetings that associations may hold, when they are required to hold them, and how to conduct those meetings. The Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (“CCIOA”) addresses some of these issues, while association governing documents address others. Whether you are a homeowner or a board member, better understanding the purpose and process for association meetings will assist associations across the state.
