Active Licenses In Colorado
For those licensees that regularly receive communications from the Division of Real Estate, you are aware that each year, the Division open renewals in the fall and the renewal season is open until December 31. This is a busy time of year at the Division and staff works long hours to ensure that questions are answered for all licensees and consumers alike, while renewing licensees are assisted.
Mortgage Loan Originators need to renew their licenses each year, appraisers need to renew their licenses every two years, and real estate Brokers renew their licenses every three years. Now that renewal activities have slowed down, it is a good time to announce the current number of active licensees in each of the three programs:
Real Estate Brokers: 42,372
Appraisers: 2,806
Mortgage Loan Originators: 16,438
To manage your license, you can access your license 24-hours-a-day on the Division’s website at:

2025 Colorado Annual Commission Update (ACU) Course For Brokers
The 2025 Annual Commission Update (the “ACU”) course is available for real estate brokers. This 4-hour mandatory course is required for all Brokers to maintain their license status.
When Can You Take It?
The ACU can be taken throughout the 2025 calendar year, but it is strongly recommended that all licensees take the course as early in the year as possible because it covers many important practice changes, updated laws, and already updated contracts and forms.
Where Can You Take The Course?
The course may be taken through authorized providers. Approved 2025 ACU providers, as well as a comprehensive list of other approved continuing education courses can be located on the Division’s website:

HOA Center Presents To The Colorado Housing Counseling Coalition |
|
On January 16, 2025, the HOA Information Officer, Nick Altmann, was honored to present to an excellent group of Colorado housing counselors at its annual retreat. Common Interest Communities is an umbrella term that encompasses homeowners’ associations, condominium associations, property owners’ associations, cooperatives, and timeshares.
Mr. Altmann spoke about recent legislative changes to collections, payment plans, notification requirements, and foreclosure in Common Interest Communities. Although the event was not open to the public, the HOA Center has shared the slides from this important presentation. Anyone can view and download the slides from the presentation from the HOA Center’s website at:
Along with this presentation, you can also view the recordings of other recent HOA Forums and download the slides from those presentations on the same website.
