Interested in Public Service? Apply to Serve as a Board Member

The Colorado Medical Board is currently seeking a professional member who is a licensed physician assistant to serve on the Full Board and the Licensing Panel. The Licensing Panel reviews and makes determination on applications for a license under the Medical Practice Act, and resolves matters relating to unlicensed practice of medicine.  The Licensing Panel meets monthly and consists of four Board members. The professional member also will participate in the Full Board quarterly meetings (August, November, February, and May). The Full Board consists of 17 members appointed by the Governor: 11 physicians, two physician assistants, and four public at large. Members are volunteers and are appointed for four years (one term) and may be eligible to serve two terms.  The licensee is required to have a license in good standing and actively engaged in the practice of their profession in this state for at least three years preceding the appointment. We welcome anyone who is interested in furthering the Department's mission of consumer protection. To apply, visit the Governor's Boards and Commissions website.

For more information, please review the Colorado Medical Board website.

If you have questions about the role of a Board member and what's required, please email paula.martinez@state.co.us.
