New CBS Contract Change and Closing Instructions Form

On May 10, 2019, the Colorado Real Estate Commission (Commission) adopted a change to the Contract to Buy and Sell Real Estate (CBS) forms, and also adopted a new Closing Instructions form. These forms are effective immediately.

Community Association Manager License Renewal Update

HB19-1212 passed on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 and is awaiting the governor’s signature. Due to the fact that the program is entirely contingent upon bill passage, the Division is continuing to delay the activation of this year’s renewals pending the legislation becoming effective with the governor’s signature.

The governor has 30 days to sign the bill. If the governor takes no action, the legislation becomes law without being signed. Should the bill be vetoed, the program will cease to exist effective June 30th of this year.

The Division is closely monitoring bill’s signature by the Governor to make sure that each licensee has ample time to complete the license renewal process. Licensees are usually afforded a 30 to 60 day window for renewal submission. Should it become necessary to extend the renewal window to provide enough time for license renewal, that information will be included in the renewal notices.
