The 2018 conservation easement holder certification fees have been set as the following:
- 2018 Conservation Easement Holder Certification Renewal Fee: $4,000
- 2018 Conservation Easement Holder Initial Certification Fee: $4,000
To reduce the conservation easement holder certification fees, the management of applications for initial certification and renewal has been assigned to the Division of Real Estate (the “Division”) Licensing Team. As a result of this re-organization, the original certification application fee for a conservation easement holder has decreased twenty-nine (29) percent from $5,600 to $4,000 and the renewal fee was reduced forty-three (43) percent from $6,962 to $4,000.
As December 31, 2017 is the renewal deadline, a month grace period will be given due to the delay in setting the fees. Your certification will not expire if the Division receives your completed renewal application package along with the prescribed fee by the close of business on January 31, 2018. All renewed certifications will be effective as of January 1, 2018.
In the event, the Division does not receive your renewal application package and fee by January 31, 2018, your current certification will expire effective January 1, 2018. As a result, you will not be able to accept conservation easement easements with a charitable component until your certification has been reinstated by the Division.
Online renewal commences on Monday, December 18, 2017 and continues until midnight on January 31, 2018. Renewals must be performed online using the Division’s online licensing management system.
To begin the renewal process, please visit the Division’s website to download the certification renewal project list. Once the project list has been completed, you will need to access your organization’s online account with the Division. After you log-in, please complete the online application to renew your license. During the renewal process, you will need to: verify your organization’s contact information is up to date and accurate; upload your completed excel project list; complete the attestations and the name of signatory; and pay the prescribed fee by either credit card or electronic check.
