Important Updates for the Colorado Assessors' Community
2024 Assessed Values Manual Available
The newest edition of the Colorado Assessed Values Manual for 2024 has been completed and is now available on the Division’s website.
Previous years’ manuals from 2003 and forward are available upon request. Tax years covered by these publications go as far back as 1991.
The Assessed Values Manual displays a history of total assessed values for each class of taxable property within each county, as well as for the whole state. The manual also contains three charts per county that are devoted to personal property values. The original intent of the publication when it was first introduced was to help assessors estimate their county values for the residential assessment rate study under the Gallagher amendment.
However, you may find the information useful for other purposes.
If you have any questions regarding this publication, please contact Thomas Young at thomas.young@state.co.us.
Applications for Exemptions
Members of our Exemptions Section will soon be taking field trips to outlying counties to inspect properties for which applications for property tax exemption have been submitted.
As we do not visit some of these areas very often, we would like to do as many inspections as possible on each trip. With that in mind, if you have any exemption applications to pass along, please do it soon so we can maximize the efficiency of our upcoming trips.
If you have any questions call the Exemptions section at (303) 864-7780. Thanks in advance for your help.
Division of Property Taxation Education Opportunities
The Division of Property Taxation's education program is designed for county assessors and employees.
Courses and workshops are designed to review and explain current Colorado property tax law, and present generally accepted appraisal and management techniques useful to the assessor and assessor staff.
Take a look at the Property Taxation Courses & Workshops Calendar.
To make sure you're able to attend a class, please sign up at least three weeks in advance. If you have any questions on the Division’s education calendar, please send an email to dola_dpteducation@state.co.us.
