Agricultural Training Sessions
Unfortunately, the DPT will be unable to fulfill a special request for the APR410: Agricultural Land and Rural Structure Valuation course. In-lieu of this, we will offer strategic, targeted training, based on the specific needs of interested parties. The trainings will be designed for appraisers and individuals who are new to agricultural classification and valuation, offered at no charge, and will not include education credit.
If you have any additional topics of concern regarding agricultural property, or any questions, please contact Bill Thompson at bill.j.thompson@state.co.us or (970) 248-7007.

USDA County Level Crop Yield Estimates
Historically, the DPT has requested county level crop yield estimates from the Colorado Agricultural Statistics Service (CASS), in coordination with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). When the data request was made for the 2025 reappraisal, CASS informed us of a new process to obtain that information. Requests are made directly through the USDA. The Special Tabulation request was made in late October 2024. In late November 2024, USDA responded that the request was approved, and to stand-by for a payment agreement. The payment agreement was received in late January with a cost of $2,000.
With the delay in receiving the payment agreement and current uncertainty surrounding federal agencies, the parties covering the cost were concerned about the data being delivered on time for the 2025 reappraisal. Subsequently, the request was withdrawn. The path forward is uncertain at this time. A meeting will be held on 2/20/2025 at 9am to discuss alternative options, and a registration link for that meeting is included below.
