Qualified Local Share of Property Tax Revenue for Schools and Reimbursement Reporting
The Division is responsible for capturing data based on requirements in House Bill 24B-1001 and Senate Bill 24-233. Submit your county data to the following email address: dola_dpt_reporting@state.co.us. Please indicate which report is attached, in the subject line of the email.
The requirement in House Bill 24B-1001 is to report the Qualified Local Share of Property Tax Revenue for Schools. Complete a form for each school district in the county. A downloadable writable PDF form to capture this data is on the DPT website under Recent Legislation or by following the link below. The deadline to submit the form is December 10, 2024. After this year, this data will be due annually on August 25.
The requirement in Senate Bill 24-233 is to report Local Governments that had a decrease in assessed value of real property from 2022 to 2024; only report entities that had a decrease. Revenue and Levies Portal Access
The Revenues and Levies portal can be accessed by logging into the County Portal and requesting access to the Revenues and Levies tab from the main menu. Access takes one day to be approved and updated. This is the same login for abstract work if you already do that.
Instructions for the data upload can be found on the main Revenue and Levies page under options/Import CVS Files.
We are asking that counties upload or enter all of the levy and revenue information for their special districts. If counties could then submit their TIF information directly to the Division, we will make sure it is entered correctly.
After entering and verifying the information, a hard copy report can be generated and submitted to the Division of Property Taxation and Division of Local Government, School Finance and Board of County Commissioners.
The deadline to receive the information is December 23, 2024
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Thomas Young at thomas.young@state.co.us or Wendy Hernandez at wendy.hernandez@state.co.us.
