Division of Workers’ Compensation (DOWC)
- The DOWC has identified a scam that is targeting injured workers in Colorado, and potentially across other states as well. Workers are being contacted, sometimes by phone, email or even video calls and told they must pay money to receive workers’ compensation benefits or claim settlements.
- You should never be asked to pay money, fees, or deposits to receive workers’ compensation benefits. If you receive a message that doesn’t feel right, do not send money or personal information. Contact the DOWC to verify the request and report the scam.
