New! FAMLI System Upgrades Save Time, Reduce Repetition
Colorado’s FAMLI program is already recognized as having one of the easiest leave platforms in the country. Now we’ve made it even simpler with new portal upgrades designed with you in mind.
This month, we’ve added a new “Copy Employee Criteria” feature, which allows you to copy employee information (such as name and SSN/ITIN) from a prior quarter for up to 50 employees.
We’ve also streamlined appeals, enabling navigation to the appeals portal directly from your employer account.
You’ll also notice employer headcount options have been updated to more accurately reflect FAMLI rules — helping you maintain good standing throughout the year!
All of these updates are designed to make your portal experience easier, more accurate, and more efficient for your business.

 FAMLI Name Check
Make sure we have your full legal name if you’re self-employed
We’re streamlining our system so individuals and businesses are clearly separated. That’s because FAMLI registration for self-employed individuals covers you personally, not your business. This means both your benefits and your premium payments apply to you, not your company — and your FAMLI premiums apply to all the income you earn from self-employment, not just a single business.
✅ Action Item: We’re asking you to take one simple step:
Log in to your My FAMLI+ Employer account and make sure your full legal name is listed — not your business name.
If you work with a Third Party Administrator (TPA), they’ll also be informed of this change so they can help support you, but only you can complete this task through the portal.
Doing so keeps your account in good standing, and most importantly, prevents coverage disruptions — so you can take the time you need, when you need it most.
➡️ Your next steps:
-
Go to famli.colorado.gov.
- Log in to your My FAMLI+ Employer account.
- Confirm your profile uses your full legal name, not your business or entity name.
If you never intended to opt-in for FAMLI coverage as a self-employed individual, please make sure to contact us. You can reach us at 1-866-CO-FAMLI (1-866-263-2654) or at: CDLE_FAMLI_info@state.co.us.
