DOWC EDI Claims Release 3.1 Informational Session
The Colorado Division of Workers' Compensation (DOWC) and Verisk have put together a helpful presentation about the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Claims Release 3.1. You can view the recording and the slides on the Training Information page of the DOWC EDI Claims website. This training will help Trading Partners get ready for the changes from R1 to R3.1 and understand what’s new.
Testing for DOWC Trading Partners (Direct SFTP) and EDI Vendors started on May 1, 2025. If you’re submitting claims data directly, you’ll need to work through the Test Plan, found on the Implementation Information page.
Remember, if you don’t complete and pass the FROI/SROI testing, you won’t move to production.
If you're using wcPrism for Jurisdiction Web Entry, you don’t have to test. Sometimes, your EDI Vendor may handle the testing for you.
Here's what to keep in mind for your incoming test files:
- Make sure the information matches the approved method.
- Set the Test/Production Indicator (DN0104) to ‘T’ for all testing.
Testing ends on July 10, 2026, and EDI Claims Release 3.1 launches on July 30, 2026.
If you haven't registered for the new trading partner profile for the transition to Release 3.1 yet, please do so. You can find the registration info online and there are detailed instructions available for download.
