May Spotlight: Don’t miss out on FAMLI payments! Verify your wages today
You know what you earn. Make sure the FAMLI Division does, too — it’s a crucial step for anyone who opted to get FAMLI coverage so that we can make sure your FAMLI benefits are correct in case you need them.
It’s a simple process. Each quarter when you report your wages, drop us any relevant documentation. Some examples include:
- bank account statements
- invoices
- pay statements
- reports
- receipts
Remember, self-employed workers and those who work for a nonparticipating local government need to complete this step before getting benefits. Self-employed workers also need to update their annual tax transcript and any applicable W-2s each year — they should see this task when they log in to the My FAMLI+ Employer portal.

FAMLI helps Colorado win mention as top place for working moms
Nearly three-fourths of mothers with children younger than 18 are in the workforce. Colorado’s FAMLI program is helping establish our great state as one of the very best places to be one of those working moms, according to a new national ranking out this month.
The 2025 Top Metros For Working Moms list by Coworking Cafe placed Fort Collins at No. 3 in its “Small Metros” category, calling it “a top performer in work-related metrics.”
The rankers specifically noted how FAMLI coverage helps keep moms working — calling Colorado’s paid family leave program “a major win for new parents.”
We couldn’t agree more!

Is your HR contact up to date?
Our HR Dashboard gives employers a handy one-stop shop for keeping track of employees taking FAMLI leave. So don’t forget to keep it up to date by making sure your FAMLI Account Administrator and/or HR contact person is valid!
Participating employers are required to make sure this information is up to date for two important reasons: so that the FAMLI Division can remind you about annual tasks and alert you to any issues on your account.
We also recommend listing a back-up person, in the event the primary contact changes position or leaves the company. Each account can have up to two HR Benefits Administrators and up to six HR Benefits Viewers.
For step-by-step instructions on how to use the HR Benefits Dashboard, please visit our online User Guide or watch our video, How To Access HR Benefits Dashboard.
It’s always a great idea to make certain your contact info is correct as soon as you register your business. Would you believe that we’ve received business registrations missing a business phone number or email contact? It’s true! Save yourself any headaches down the road by letting us know how best to reach you.

Private Plan Employers: Check your notifications!
Is your business using private insurance to meet its FAMLI obligations? You’ll want to know that we’re updating our notification requirements.
Notification requirements are important because they ensure that your employees know about the benefits that they are paying for and deserve. Starting in July, all employers in Colorado are required notify employees about their paid-leave program in the following circumstances:
- when an employee is hired
- when an employee transfers to Colorado from another state
- if the employee experiences a FAMLI-qualifying event
- if the employee requests FMLA leave.
If you’re not sure what those notifications need to say, you can find all the details in the “Employee Notification” section on our Private Plans page. Employers using the state plan should use the notification available for download in our Employer Toolkit.
