Important Update: New State Average Weekly Wage
Starting July 1, we will begin calculating benefits using the new State Average Weekly Wage (SAWW) of $1,471.34. This update reflects a roughly 3.5% increase over the current SAWW.
While some claimants who already receive the maximum benefit of $1,100 per week will not see any changes, other claimants can expect a slight increase in their benefit payments.
Claimants will receive a notification with their new benefit amount from My FAMLI+. HR Benefits Administrators and Viewers will be able to see their employees’ new benefit amounts by navigating to the new HR Benefits Dashboard in My FAMLI+ Employer.
Take careful note of the changes if you’re an employer with a policy to “top off” FAMLI claimants with additional employer-provided benefits. Remember that Colorado does not allow workers to earn more on FAMLI leave than they do while working, so you may need to adjust any “top-off” payments to avoid overpaying your employees.

Q: What can opted-out Local Governments see in the My FAMLI+ Employer portal?
A: Opted-out Local Governments can access the HR Dashboard to view claim details for their employees. They cannot see employee wage or payment information unless the Employee of an Opted-Out Local Government (EOOLG) grants permission for a specified duration. This permission can be given during the employee's initial registration or later in the Manage Account section.

Reminder from the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing:
Take Action Now to Help Your Employees Get Connected to Your Employer-Sponsored Health Insurance Coverage
Losing Medicaid coverage is a “qualifying event” for special enrollment periods. Some of your employees may have been recently covered by Medicaid, and now need to be enrolled in your employer-sponsored health insurance.
Below are several steps employers can take to assist employees in getting covered:
-
Remind all your employees about health coverage options that you provide as their employer, and how to apply. Losing Medicaid coverage is a qualifying event to enroll in employer-sponsored coverage outside the normal enrollment period.
-
Extend your special enrollment period (SEP) from 60 days to 1 year, per the federal government’s letter to employers, plan sponsors, and issuers to give employees the time needed as they disenroll from Medicaid to enroll in your employer-sponsored health coverage.
-
If you do not offer employee benefits coverage, your employees may qualify for reduced-cost health insurance coverage through Connect for Health Colorado. Losing coverage is a “qualifying event,” which means they can apply for health insurance through Connect for Health Colorado during the extended special enrollment period.
-
Refer affected employees to colorado.gov/health to learn more about other health coverage options.
For more information, please visit KeepCOCovered.com and leverage the toolkit that includes downloadable resources. Please proactively communicate health coverage options as soon as possible to your employees so they know how to enroll in your coverage or find other options.
Thank you for doing your part to Keep Coloradans - and your employees - Covered.
