It’s time to get your Q1 2023 wage reports and premium payments to FAMLI. The deadline is April 30 – act now to avoid penalties! FAMLI is offering a 30-day grace period which is currently reflected in My FAMLI+ Employer, which shows May 31, 2023 as the first deadline. Avoid the stress and get it done today!
Don’t forget that we recently updated the file specifications used to upload bulk registration files and bulk wage reports. All of our sample file templates can be found on our resources page for Third Party Administrators (TPAs) in addition to the Employers page under the Submitting Your Wage Reports section.
Another tip as you prepare to report wages: If you’re manually entering wage data for individual employees in My FAMLI+ Employer, you’ll want to always round down for any amount beyond a penny. Otherwise, you may get an error message because the rounding (even to a fraction of a penny) can suggest you are withholding too much from employees. Don’t worry! We are refining our software to resolve these small rounding errors by providing a 50-cent buffer. In the meantime, any fractions of a cent should be rounded down to the nearest penny. If you’re still getting error messages when manually reporting wages, call our customer care team at 1-866-CO-FAMLI (1-866-263-2654) and we’ll walk you through it.
One more wage reporting tip to keep in mind: Make sure that you are selecting Q1 2023 as the quarter you are reporting for (not Q2 2023)!
Finally, we've got exciting news to share about long-awaited private plan options for family and medical leave insurance. Several insurance carriers have submitted their proposed paid family and medical leave insurance policies to the Colorado Division of Insurance. We’ve published a list of those insurance carriers on our Private Plan page. These policies are still under final review, and we’ll be updating this list frequently to indicate which ones have received approval from the State.
Remember that this list does NOT act as formal approval for an employer’s use of a private plan to avoid submitting wage data and paying FAMLI premiums. An employer MUST submit a private plan application for a fully approved plan within My FAMLI+ Employer in order to receive formal approval from the FAMLI Division. Check out the Private Plan User Guide for step-by-step instructions.
