Dillon to Host Annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony Honoring Fallen Heroes
Dillon, Colo., May 19, 2026 - The Dillon Cemetery will once again serve as the setting for the Town of Dillon’s annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony honoring the brave servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. The ceremony will take place on Monday, May 25, and will gather families, friends, veterans, and community members who wish to honor and remember our fallen heroes.
The Memorial Day Ceremony has become a cherished tradition in the local community, serving as a poignant reminder of the selfless sacrifices made by those who fought to protect the freedoms we hold dear.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and will include participation from Elks Lodge #2561, Rotary Club of Summit County, Dillon Keystone Police Department, members of Summit County’s Scouting America, and Master of Ceremonies Phil Lindeman of Krystal 93. There will be a reading of the names of the interred service members at Dillon Cemetery following a presentation of the colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, and table honors.
Adding to the solemnity of the occasion, the Summit Concert Band will perform “Taps,” the traditional bugle call associated with military funerals, along with “America the Beautiful.” The reverential notes will echo across the cemetery grounds in tribute to our fallen heroes.
The Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at the Dillon Cemetery is open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend and participate in this meaningful commemoration. Attendees are also encouraged to bring old American flags to be properly retired.
The Town of Dillon extends its deepest gratitude to Summit County veterans and active-duty military members for their service and sacrifice and invites everyone to join in honoring and remembering our nation’s fallen heroes this Memorial Day.
