New Recreation Programs in Dillon
The Town of Dillon is excited to announce a series of new recreation programs designed to engage residents and visitors with the natural beauty and cultural offerings of our community. These programs include guided nature hikes at the Dillon Nature Preserve, Astronomy Nights at the Lake Dillon Disc Golf Course, and the return of the Leisure on the Lake Art Series.
Guided Nature Hikes at the Nature Preserve
Join former National Park Ranger Lori Young on guided hikes throughout the summer at the Dillon Nature Preserve. These guided nature hikes are designed for all skill levels and will offer participants the opportunity to learn about the benefits of forest bathing, natural sounds, flora and fauna ID, and history of Lake Dillon. Bring water, layers, rain jacket, snacks and a smile! Wear sturdy shoes and sunscreen.

Astronomy Nights at the Disc Golf Course
Join us for a party under the stars! Learn “what’s up” in the summer sky, benefits of dark skies, and how to read a sky map. Star tour with constellation mythology included. Led by a former astronomy ranger with the National Parks. Bring a chair, layers, red headlamp/flashlight and binoculars if you have them. Limited red flashlights and binoculars will be available for use at the program.

Leisure at the Lake: Art Series
Leisure at the lake returns this summer with a new art series. Channel your inner artist and come create beautiful pen and watercolor art beside Lake Dillon. Local artist and Dillon Farmers Market Vendor Agostina, whose art is featured in Covered Bridge Magazine, will be leading the class. The classes will take place at the Marina Park Pavilion.
