Dillon Embraces Winter with Exciting Events:
Pond Hockey and Dog Mushing Take Center Stage
Dillon, Colorado – The Town of Dillon is delighted to announce the official approval of its eagerly awaited winter events. The Town of Dillon has partnered with several third-party producers to bring the Colorado Youth Hockey Tournament, the Colorado Pond Hockey Tournament and the Colorado Mountain Mushers Dog Sled Races back to Dillon this winter. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Ten Mile and Gore Ranges, these events are poised to showcase the winter wonders that make Dillon a must-visit destination during the colder months.
The events were approved at the December 5 town council meeting by a unanimous vote. The approval of these events is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Town of Dillon, event organizers, local businesses, and the community, all working together to create a winter celebration that reflects the unique charm of Dillon.

- Colorado Youth Pond Hockey Tournament
- Dates: February 10-11, 2024
- Location: The Dillon Marina and the ice rinks on the Dillon Reservoir
- Details: Summit hockey offers boys and girls the opportunity to learn and compete in hockey programs at all levels in a safe environment. This exciting event brings together young hockey players from all over the state to compete and have fun on the pond.
- Colorado Pond Hockey Tournament
- Dates: February 16-18, 2024
- Location: The Dillon Marina and the ice rinks on the Dillon Reservoir
- Details: Teams from near and far will gather on the frozen expanse of the Dillon Reservoir for a competitive pond hockey tournament. With breathtaking mountains providing a scenic backdrop, players and spectators alike can expect a weekend of high-energy competition and community camaraderie.
- Colorado Mountain Mushers Dog Sled Races
- Dates: February 24-25, 2024
- Location: The Dillon Marina and the Lake Loops on the Dillon Reservoir
- Details: Experience the exhilaration of dog mushing as teams of skilled mushers and their eager canine companions compete in six-dog, four-dog, and two-dog sled races. Other race categories include kid sled, bikejor, skijor and canicross. This family-friendly event combines speed, skill and the natural beauty of the winter landscape, offering a unique and memorable experience for all.
