Sustainable Potlucking
The Town of Dillon encourages all picnic attendees to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible during the event.
- Table hosts are asked to bring reusable or compostable plates, bowls, cups, utensils and serving utensils for their tables. When coordinating the menu with your tablemates please communicate that no Styrofoam or single use plastics are to be brought to the event. Any purchased food should avoid these materials or have minimal packaging. Please avoid single use plastic water bottles and encourage tablemates to bring reusable water bottles that they can fill at the water fill stations.
- Anticipating leftovers? Attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable storage container from home to take any remaining food items.
- Consider carpooling, taking public transportation or riding a bike to the event to reduce your carbon footprint.
