Hi Everybody,
Well, we're about halfway through the marina season. If you haven't been able to get up here there is still time. Earlier this month we christened our new work barge the Ms. Blakely. This 40- foot work barge will enable us to do more effective work on our docks, replace channel markers, assist in search and rescue efforts and more. We are thrilled to have partnered with Barge Worx in creating this great amenity to our reservoir.
Now, let's talk about dock lines. I was walking the docks yesterday and couldn't help but notice some pretty creative ways to tie up a boat. We've had a lot of squalls come up from the south this season which is the longest fetch for wave activity. That direction gives the wind the entire lake to build swells and gets this marina rocking. The next time you visit, please take a moment to look at your dock lines. If they were purchased at a hardware store or have been in service since 1972, it might be time to replace them. You deserve it! Dock lines should be dynamic like a triple braid or something that binds to itself as Mother Nature tries to take your boat out without you. Let's keep having fun this summer.

Back Office News
Karlee Ferris
Hello All!
Summer is in full swing, but it is not too early to think about fall! To my surprise, the grocery store reminded me of that fact when I saw their Jaco lantern decorations displayed. While I must admit it felt a little early for me, it did make me think about this fall at the marina and what would be the best thing to do to make things go smoothly for all of us.
So on that note, here are the plans for the rest of the summer and the beginning of fall:
-
Cars and Coffee will be held on August 7th
-
Fall work orders will be sent out on August 15th
- The Dillon Open is August 26-28th
- Last but certainly not least, you are invited to the Annual Mutt Show - September 5th and it will be paws-itively wonderful!
-
September 11th – rental closure. This earlier date is due to a construction project. So, if you are wanting to rent, make sure to book your rentals and tours with us soon!
