Post Hurricane Independence and Maintaining Health Resource Request |

Reminder Quarterly Reports due July 30, 2024
Hi everyone,
Here is a request from a North Carolina Partner Corbett O'Toole at mail2corbett@gmail.com
I’m sharing an email request from disability communities hit by recent hurricanes and storms on ideas for emergency, low cost access to toileting, etc. during this emergency response – here’s the request coming in from Corbett OToole that I’m sharing to see if you can spread the word for ideas here. I’m cc’ing Corbett on this email so she can share back with communities/be a liaison.
Message from Corbett: I got a message this morning for people doing mutual aid in Western North Carolina. Looking for alternatives to temporary toilets other than “just sit on a 5 gallon bucket”. I literally searched the internet for an hour at all the major disability government and community sites on disasters and nobody was dealing with nitty gritty stuff like toilets. I’m wondering if anything has come across your networks? They want ideas that are disability friendly and also accessible to people of different sizes/weights.
Passing this along to generate ideas quickly and link people to groups working on this….please share….
