 Primary Election Ballots Are Out! Colorado’s primary election is on June 30th, and your ballot must be returned (not just postmarked) by 7:00 PM on June 30th to be counted. To help you vote confidently, we encourage you to check out our Accessible Voting Resources InfoGuide. This guide provides a wealth of tools to ensure full access to the democratic process in the format that works best for you. The guide features Colorado-specific resources like the Secretary of State’s accessible voting FAQ, Disability Law Colorado voting rights fact sheets, and plain-language ballot breakdowns. In addition, the guide connects you directly to the National Association of the Deaf's Voter Information ASL Hotline, the SignVote civic education platform, and helpful HLAA webinars. It also includes the latest Department of Justice guidance on physical and digital polling place accessibility. Use these resources to make your voice heard as you cast your vote this primary season! Juneteenth Office Closure Notice: In observance of Juneteenth, our state offices are closed today, Friday, June 19. Juneteenth marks a historic day of freedom, community resilience, and civil rights. As we honor this day, we encourage everyone to reflect on and celebrate the rich history and vital contributions of Black Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind advocates who continue to shape our community. Our regular office hours and services will resume as usual on Monday, June 22.
 Staying Safe in the Colorado Heat: Sunday, June 21st, marks the summer solstice and the official first day of summer! We want to remind our communities to stay safe in the heat by drinking plenty of water, wearing sunscreen, and avoiding strenuous activities during the hottest parts of the day. Look out for one another and know the signs of heat exhaustion: heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, and headaches. If you notice these symptoms, move to a cool place right away, sip water, and rest. Please also remember to check on vulnerable family members and neighbors. Finally, never leave children or pets unattended in parked cars, as temperatures can become dangerous in just a few minutes.  Celebrating PRIDE Month: As we move through the second half of June, we want to recognize and celebrate Pride Month! Pride is an important time to honor history, celebrate diversity, and continue the push for equality, inclusion, and accessibility for all intersecting identities. We recognize that the fight for disability access and LGBTQ+ rights are deeply connected, as both communities strive to be seen, respected, and treated equally. With Denver Pride hosting a wide variety of events and culminating in the PrideFest and Parade on June 28th, it is a great time to highlight the importance of making community celebrations accessible. From providing ASL interpreters at festival stages to ensuring clear, accessible parade routes, true inclusion means everyone can fully participate in the joy. We hope everyone has a joyous, accessible, and safe Pride month!
 Happy Father's Day: This Sunday, June 21st, is Father’s Day! The Division would like to wish a very happy Father's Day to all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures in our community. We thank you for all the support, love, and guidance you provide. We hope you get to enjoy a wonderful and relaxing weekend celebrating with your families and loved ones!
