The Colorado Department of Early Childhood is proud to partner with Imagination Library of Colorado and the Governor’s Office for Dolly Day Colorado!, a two-part statewide celebration honoring Dolly Parton’s music, storytelling, generosity, and extraordinary literacy legacy.
Dolly Day Colorado! runs September 25-27, 2026, with communities across the state coming together through local celebrations, storytimes, children’s activities, live music, and more.
Colorado Loves Dolly! in Denver
📅 Friday, September 25, 2026 | 3-7 p.m. 📍 Governor’s Park, 701 Pennsylvania St., Denver 🎟️ Free and open to the public
Join us for a free, family-friendly celebration at Governor’s Park featuring:
- Storytime and Dolly-inspired art activities
- Children’s games, bubbles, and a playground
- Live, family-friendly entertainment
- Opportunities to learn about Imagination Library and enroll eligible children
- Plenty of Dolly-inspired fun, including costumes and prizes
More than 93,000 Colorado children currently receive a free book each month through Imagination Library of Colorado and its local affiliates. Dolly Day is a chance to celebrate that legacy and the joy, connection, and possibilities that books bring to children and families.
