Directors: Add Verified Experience Hours for Past Staff
Since March, Directors, Workforce Managers or Human Resources Representatives can now edit information and add verified experience hours for their staff, past and present!
However, verified direct-care experience hours for all prior staff can only be added until mid-June. After that time, program leaders will have 30 days after an employee leaves to add hours to their PDIS profile, which aligns with Licensing rule.
To add hours, visit the Past Employees table on the My Employees page.
Experience hours added to the PDIS will automatically be calculated into Early Childhood Professional Credential (ECPC) applications.

¡Desde marzo, directores, gerentes de fuerza laboral o representantes de Recursos humanos ahora pueden editar información y agregar horas de experiencia verificadas para su personal, pasado y presente!

Center for Innovative Design and Engineering eLearning and Adaptive Equipment
The Center for Innovative Design and Engineering’s Adapt to Impact program provides professional development and access to a loan library of adaptive equipment, toys, and materials at no cost to licensed Colorado family child care homes and preschool programs.
Five 1.5-hour eLearning courses are available to early childhood professionals through PDIS, with one more coming soon.

Search for the courses on PDIS, then link to the program’s Moodle site to create an account, enter the enrollment key, and complete the courses. The Center for Innovative Design and Engineering forwards completions to CDEC at the end of every month for uploading into PDIS accounts. Learners will be notified by email when a training entry and certificate appear in their PDIS completed transcript.

Adapt to Impact del Centro de Diseño e Ingeniería Innovadores brinda desarrollo profesional y acceso a una biblioteca de préstamos de equipos, juguetes y materiales adaptativos sin costo para hogares de cuidado infantil familiar y programas preescolar autorizados de Colorado.
Hay cinco cursos de aprendizaje electrónico de 1,5 horas disponibles para profesionales de la primera infancia a través de PDIS, y pronto habrá uno más.

The PDIS is Now Available in Arabic!
We released a new translation feature in the PDIS this past weekend. Using the language option at the top right of your PDIS screen, you can now see all PDIS site content consistently translated to Spanish and Arabic.

Early Intervention Training Moving to the PDIS
Heads up for Early Intervention (EI) workers! Starting in June 2025, you'll do all your CDEC EI training in the PDIS.
This change will make things easier. It will help us track training better, and you'll always be able to go back to the PDIS to review training materials whenever you’d like.
We will send out more details to EI staff in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out. If you have questions before then, you can contact Wayla Murrow (wayla.murrow@state.co.us).

On your PDIS dashboard, you will see a blue Income & Benefits Survey button. This new tool will help us understand the realities of compensation and benefits for the early childhood workforce in Colorado.
What is the Income and Benefits Survey?
- A brief and voluntary 11-question survey
- Open every year from May through September
- Asks about job roles, wages, annual income, benefits, and social service use
- Open to any PDIS user (including you!)
Why do we have this survey?
- CDEC is committed to supporting improved compensation policy for our workforce, but we need data to know how we are doing and to help us tailor the supports we provide.

Help Evaluate and Shape the Future of the CDEC!
An independent evaluation is being conducted of the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) to look at progress made in building an effective system of early childhood and family support programs and services to support young children, families, and the workforce since the Department launched in 2022. The goal of this evaluation is to make recommendations regarding potential changes going forward. Public Consulting Group (PCG), a national early childhood consulting firm, was selected as the vendor to conduct this evaluation.
To have your voice heard, visit the CDEC Independent Evaluation Webpage to take an online survey or sign up to participate in a virtual (online) focus group in May or June. The surveys and focus groups are in English and Spanish.

¡Public Consulting Group (PCG) se complace en anunciar que hemos iniciado la Evaluación Independiente del Departamento de la Primera Infancia de Colorado (CDEC)! Share Your Experience with Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation
Are you a home-based provider who has participated in Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) in the past 12 months? If so, the Urban Institute wants to hear from you!
The Urban Institute, a nonprofit research organization, is leading Project REACH (Reaching Every Adult for Child Health and Development) in partnership with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood to learn about your experiences with consultation.
What does participation entail?
- Focus groups will be 1 hour long and will be held May 19th - 30th
- Focus groups will be offered virtually in Spanish and English
- You will receive a $75 gift card as a thank you
