Dear Early Intervention Partners,
The Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) and the Early Intervention (EI) Program would like to share an updated schedule for meeting times to discuss concerns and long-term solutions related to the EI Budget.
Mary Alice Cohen, the Chief Program Officer at CDEC, will be facilitating these sessions for Early Intervention Brokers (EIBs), Early Intervention Evaluation (EIE) staff, and providers over the next seven weeks.
To allow for greater participation, we have adjusted this week’s schedule. Instead of the previously planned March 5 session, we will now hold two one-hour meetings on Thursday, March 6, and Friday, March 7.
We remain committed to working collaboratively to ensure continued access to early intervention services while identifying sustainable cost-containment strategies. The Department is actively collaborating with the JBC to explore areas with underutilized funding that could help address challenges in EI services and delay or eliminate cost containment measures for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. The Department will provide its updated memo as soon as it is available.
