Background Investigation Unit (BIU)
Website Update
The Background Investigation Unit (BIU) is excited to share that the Five (5) year Interstate background check form and website language has been updated! The new State-based Check Checklist form is available in English and Spanish.

 Most notable process changes are:
- BIU no longer requires the 20 day proof of follow up to the previously resided states as long as BIU has written proof of the submitted initial request of criminal and child abuse and neglect background check results.
- The form provides examples of accepted proof of submissions to other states.
- The form includes revised instructions and FAQ’s.
